Its a lot simpler than people think. Especially when it comes to maintaining your weight. Your body is like a complex machine. It needs fuel to burn. When we eat & what we put in our body is how our body creates energy. Its like if you have a car & you treat it like crap, Put garbage fuel in it. Dont use the right oil. Eventually that car will break down, burn out etc... THE GOOD THING is our bodies are more adaptive than a car. You can turn it around, You can have a cheat day in your week. (Ie: Fried chicken, Pizza, Pasta, etc..) So its simple. Foods that are higher in vitamins protein & lower in Fats. You can eat 6 days a week. Save the "fun food" for your cheat day. Thats why its important to know your Basal metabolic rate. Its a good way to say Ok if my body on average burns 2000 calories for example. Than perhaps If I only take in 1800 calories a day with exercise. Than my body will burn through that energy from food. Then as my body searches for more energy it will use the stored fat in my body & burn that. Thats a very simple concept. One important thing to know is like I said your body will adapt & your Basal Metabolic rate will change as you lose weight & your diet matches a healthier life style. So its important to go to the BMR calculator & update it. When you get to your healthy weight you want to stop taking in less than what your BMR says & just take in what your BMR should be. ex: Your weight goal was 145lbs Your BMR is now 1700 calories. You might want to consult with your doctor while doing this. Just to be on the safe side.
UNDERSTANDING DIET
